"Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in ...God."
Psalm 20:7
Psalm 20:7
"What's up since you left the showroom? How you doing?" my client asked, referring to my resignation of a young growing company.
I responded that I was adjusting and was trying to make some changes that involved balance. This meant I occasionally had to say no to working longer and harder hours. This was not easy.

My client agreed that saying no wasn't always the easiest option. He began to tell me that he was recently picked up on a drunk driving charge. He went on to say that we all have to find a way to cope and his way drinking, and maybe my coping mechanism was work.
I think I need something bigger than myself to help me deal with the negative realities of life. David wrote in the Psalms about people who put their trust in chariots and horses. Taking control into our own hands and striving to reach the stars by over-doing it all can give us a sense of power. We can find ourselves riding the wave of power to deal with our fear, frustrations and disappointment that life can leave us with.
Maybe you, like me, have realized that all the sources of power can still leave us powerless and exhausted. God is our true strength, a constant in our lives if you'll let him be. When we accept our weaknesses He can become our strength.
Make it Personal: When is it hard for you to say no? Determine to say no at least 7 times this week; once for everyday.
