I love today's devotional!!!
"I saw something...that was senseless. I saw a person...He always worked hard. But he was never satisfied with what he had. He never asked himself, "For whom am I working so hard? Why don't I let myself enjoy life?"
Ecclesiastes 4:7-8, NCV

I'm in a hurry", said one of the college students whom I mentored that semester, "If I don't finish this assignment I'll be in so much trouble."
"What's going on?", I asked.
"My to-do list keeps growing. I've got five chapters to read and finish a report, continue my job search, write a letter to my fiance, and call my grandmother before she forgets who I am."

"Okay, what's left on your list?", I asked.
"Well technically all that stuff is done, but need to be further along. I quit my waitressing job last night so that I could move forward."
Even though many of us experience successes throughout our journey, we are constantly feeling like the next disaster is around the corner. Instead of enjoying our successes, we change the requirements. Instead of looking at the progress we've made, we constantly demand more. I have noticed this one especially with my goal to lose weight.
We constantly demand more of ourselves without celebrating our accomplishments. Changing the way with think and work can be scary, but if we are patient and with much practice we can learn to celebrate ourselves, and revel in our accomplishments. I'm sure God would enjoy it if we celebrated our accomplishments with Him.
Make it Personal: Since God has given you today, how will you choose to make it fun?
