"He has satisfied the thirsty soul, and the hungry soul He has filled." Psalm 107:9 NASB
I looked at the gas gauge and thought to myself, I'll make it. I don't have time to stop. As soon as that thought passed the empty light came on. Great! I should have stopped, but I'm running late. I'll stop at the next exit.
Guess what? I didn't make it. I had to pull over and I wasn't going anywhere in a hurry now. "Maybe I should have paid attention to the gas gauge", I thought to myself as I found the nearest gas station.

"In the busyness of our day and life, it may seem like a waste of time to slow down, to stop what we're doing, and take a break. It is no more a waste of time than stopping to put gas in our car when the tank is almost empty." (Beattie, M. p. 313, 1990).
God doesn't expect us to run on an empty tank. He promises us to replenish our souls and to give us rest. We need to slow down once in a while and pay attention to our gauges that are telling us we are running on empty. When we take the time to refuel we are able to get back to our schedules.
Make it Personal: What is it during your week that keeps you from refueling? Now that you have pointed that out, make a plan to stop and refuel even if it's just for 15 minutes. During those 15 minutes take time to REALLY relax.
