Today the kids and I spent the day getting some much needed R&R. As part of their reward for helping out so much this past weekend I took them to a nearby pool. It's so much fun to watch your children's skills develop. Zeke is my youngest and I remember the first time we took him swimming. He was terrified of the water. A few years later he was like a little fish. He didn't want to leave. It's a bittersweet feeling to see them gain their independence little by little, but it also makes room for new chapters to begin.
As a mother of four I find myself constantly busy. Sometimes I really need to stop and decide what is necessary and what can wait. (I really have trouble with this one). Does anyone else have a tendency to go from one busy project to another?I often thrive on being busy, but when I purposely make the time to relax and just watch a movie with the kids or take them to the pool that's when I find myself really appreciating life. We can fill our time with projects and busy things or we can take intentional breaks that can create memorable moments.
